Checkout LG’s Newest TV is also a Mosquito Repellent

A newly announced LG TV set in India has a unique feature that’s specifically made for developing markets. The LG 32LH520D comes with what the company is calling Mosquito Away Technology that uses ultrasonic waves to repel mosquitoes.

LG TV MosquitoMosquitoes which serve as a carrier of numerous deadly diseases such as malaria, dengue and Zika. The ultrasonic waves that the TV set uses are inaudible to humans but causes the insects to fly away. LG has even commissioned an independent laboratory to certify the effectiveness of this feature.

According to LG, the mosquito repelling feature will be active even when the TV is turned off. The TV is targeted at lower-income consumers in three countries – India, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. Other notable features of the TV include built-in games and 1080p resolution.

LG made two versions of this TV set – one to sell for $349 and the other for $706.
