HTC’s new flagship model is stirring things up in the way the company has built and named its top model. The new star of HTC’s show is the HTC 10, which was announced yesterday in London.

HTC 10 3.pngThe HTC 10 seems to be an amalgamation of different designs from HTC models of recent years. The phone is again, built with metal and features massive chamfered edges that tapers at the back.

HTC 10 2 A 5.2-inch SuperLCD panel with QHD resolution (2560 x 1440) is installed on the handset with a curved edge Gorilla Glass. The company’s BoomSound speakers have been remixed in the sense that there’s only one front-facing speaker, which is located at the top while the second speaker has been replaced by a subwoofer and is now located at the bottom.

Performance is provided by a Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage (32GB also available) with an option for expansion via a microSD card. It will also have a 3000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0.

HTC 10.pngThe UltraPixel moniker is also back on the phone’s rear camera. This time, it’s a 12MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, OIS and Laser AF. The rear camera is also capable of capturing 4K 2160p videos as well as 12-bit RAW images. At the front, there’s a 5MP camera with f/1.8 aperture lens and surprisingly has its own OIS.

The HTC 10 will be available starting May $699 for the 32GB version.
