MWC 2016: HTC Desire 825, 630 and 530

We’re not seeing a lot of movement along HTC’s camp these days but it doesn’t mean they’ve stopped doing anything there. The company’s booth at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is one good example of what the brand has been up to lately.

During the event, HTC unveiled three new devices under its Desire brand that seems to veer away from the trending use of glass and metal in today’s smartphone market. Instead, the new Desire models are all sporting polycarbonate exteriors with a speckled design that screams youth and creativity.

HTC Desire 825

The largest of the three phones is the Desire 825 which goes with a 5.5-inch Super LCD HD panel. It’s running on a 32-bit (and quite underwhelming) Snapdragon 400 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. It also has Hi-Res audio which features BoomSound with Dolby Audio technology.

At the back, there’s a 13MP snapper that is able to record 1080p video while a 5MP sensor is located at the front for those who are into taking lots of selfies. The phone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will come with LTE connectivity, dual-SIM functionality and a 2600mAh battery.

HTC Desire 630

If you’re looking for a more pocketable experience, you can look at the Desire 630 which comes with a 5.0-inch 720p display. The rest of the specs is identical to the Desire 825 from the chipset, RAM, storage, connectivity and cameras.

Finally, there’s the Desire 530. This particular model is rocking a Snapdragon 210 chipset with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. The display measures at 5 inches and comes with an 8MP+5MP camera duo.

All three models will have that speckled back cover, which the company claims creates a unique pattern of paint specs for each phone. All three phones will hit the shelves starting this month, though pricing information has yet to be determined.
